Hello all,

This is my Tracks 4 D Day as part of the work with the Indigenous Hip Hop Business Association (IHHBA). In this episode, I discuss the aspects of reggaeton. This prolific culture-specific genre offers an abundant amount of information. The conversation has to start somewhere. Take a look at the different tracks and artists.

First, the one who brought this genre to the fore: Don Omar. A classic style, voice, and approach. His work is the staple from which all others build.

Dancing would not be anything without Daddy Yankee. It’s his smooth lyrics and style that help keep the gyrations going.

A nice dance (bilar) collection is,

Another collection from EP The Latino, which brings together the classics. The YouTube description says,

“Classic, after classic, after classic…A 1 Hour mix of the best Old School Reggaeton hits. Everything from Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Wisin Y Yandel, Ivy Queen, Hector el Father, Tego Calderon, Luny Tunes, Luigi 21 Plus, Jowell y Randy, and many many more! If you love old school reggaeton, this is the mix for you!” EPTV.

What’s nice about reggaeton is the mix. This is a serious throwback and signifying of original DJ culture.
